English Language Support
SUCCESS SPOKEN HERE
As part of our on-going commitment to our international students’ academic achievement in the UK, we offer English Language Support Courses as an additional part of students’ academic programme.
Upon arrival to Bath Academy, students will take an English Language assessment which will determine which level they should be placed in should they require further support in English.
Each class works through a syllabus designed to improve current abilities in speaking, reading, writing and listening. The course focuses on grammar and vocabulary and helps students with techniques and approaches for IELTS exams.
At Bath Academy we also offer English language courses for non-academic students. For more information please see below, or visit our English Language Website
Our Junior Summer School is the perfect environment for 12-16 year olds to study English in a caring and fun atmosphere! Lessons focus on providing maximum time to practice speaking skills and enhancing vocabulary based on topics all linked to the accompanying social programme.
Available from 6th June – 24th July 2016.
See our Bath Academy of English website for more details.
Students who have a good command of English but who have not yet undertaken the IELTS and Cambridge Exam preparation may take Intermediate or Advanced level General English courses.
In these lessons, students will receive lessons on grammatical accuracy, fluency in reading, speaking and writing, as well as focusing on building their vocabulary which will enhance their academic work. Our classroom sizes have no more than 13 students in each class and each student receives a Personal Tutor who supports each student’s progress.
Bath Academy of English has vast experience in successfully preparing students for the academic IELTS examination. We are able to draw upon the expertise of our sister school, Bath Academy, who run the popular University Foundation Programme (UFP) which prepares international students for acceptance to UK universities and includes IELTS preparation work. The course focuses on the skills and strategies needed to gain your target band score and includes regular practice under exam conditions to help familiarise yourself with the format of the exam in readiness for your test date.
The UK Higher Education system is regularly based on a lot of coursework and essay assessment. Therefore, we offer the students the chance to focus on their academic writing skills in order to develop their critical thinking and to express their ideas in a clear, persuasive and informed manner.
Students may also book private tuition English lessons should they need intensive focus on particular skills.
