Adult Summer School

Bath Academy Adult Summer School offers an ideal opportunity to combine learning the English Language with an exciting holiday in a beautiful city with students from all over the world.

Overview:

Study in a relaxed learning environment with serious learning goals. Students join our Intensive English Course, with lessons taking place mornings and afternoons, Monday – Friday. Classes finish at 3.00 p.m. so there is time to relax with the other students or enjoy the city of Bath after class. The package includes accommodation, as well as an excursion to a place of interest every Saturday.

Adult Summer School runs from June 30th until August 16th.

Key Points

  • Tuition is in multinational groups with a maximum of 13 students per class.
  • Students are tested at the start of the course to ensure they are placed in the most appropriate class.
  • For 16-17 year-olds, we normally recommend an Adult English language class in the mornings, and Junior cultural and sports activities in the afternoons. The Saturday excursion is also included. Please apply for a Junior course.
  • Language areas covered: speaking, listening, reading, writing, pronunciation and vocabulary.
  • The course consists of 3 hours of General English each morning, Monday to Friday, plus 2 hours of skills-based English every afternoon, Monday to Friday.
  • Each lesson hour consists of 55 minutes of teaching and 5 minutes of break time. During a 3-hour class, there is typically one break of 15 minutes. During a 2-hour class, there is typically one break of 10 minutes.
  • The course includes a full-day Saturday excursion to a well-known city such as London, Oxford, Cardiff, etc.
  • Homestay or Hostel accommodation is provided (reduced fees available if not required).
  • Students receive a welcome pack, student guide, leaving certificate and report.
  • All course materials are provided.
