A/AS Level Courses

The General Certificate of Education is a traditional pre-University course for students with a high level of English Language competence. It is internationally recognised as a qualification for entry to all British universities. These programmes provide in-depth preparation for University entrance.

Key Facts:

  • Taken over two academic years
  • Some students may be accepted for five terms, or exceptionally for three terms
  • Start dates in January and September
  • Each Advanced Level consists of six units
  • Students have 25 hours each week of tuition and private study
  • Personal counselling and advice on University application provided

Entry Requirements:

  • Minimum age 16
  • High level of English language competence (IELTS 5.5 / TOEFL 550)
  • For students who have not reached this level, Bath Academy offers Pre-sessional English for academic purposes
  • 5 GCSEs, grade C and above or good secondary or high school education
