My Name is Yuko and I'm from Japan. I'm a designer. I study in the mornings at Bath Academy and in the afternoons I go to the library and study and visit places in Bath. My classmates here are interesting and fun to be with. The teachers are very good and I'm happy to be here.

General English

Overview

This course will help students to improve all aspects of their English, whether beginners or more advanced students. Lessons take place every morning, so that afternoons are free for students to continue studying or get to know the city of Bath and its surroundings, or to spend time with fellow students from all over the world.

Duration 1 week minimum and for as long as a student wishes to stay
Class Size 13 students maximum
Age Requirement 16+
Classes per Week 15 lessons (09:00 - 12:00)
Entry Level of English Classes are offered for students at elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper intermediate and advanced levels
Placement Details Students are given a placement test on arrival to ensure that they are placed in the most appropriate class

  • In these classes teachers use a course book supplemented by additional material
  • Regular progress tests are given
  • Homework is set regularly
  • Students are given regular feedback in individual tutorials on their own use of the language and guidance on how to improve
  • Certificates of Attendance are issued on completion of the course
  • Reports are issued at the end of the course suggesting ideas for future learning
  • This course may be entered on any Monday of the year except over the Christmas period
