General English
- 15 lessons per week (13.75 hours)
- Monday-Friday. Mornings only : 9.00-10.30, 10.45-12.00
- Designed for students who wish to improve their spoken and written English
- Classes focus on grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, and offer practice in
- the four skill areas: listening, speaking, reading and writing
- Afternoons are free to continue studying or to get to know the city of Bath and its surroundings, or to spend time with fellow students from all over the world.
- Regular progress tests are given, and homework is set regularly.
- Regular individual tutorials are provided, in which students are given feedback on their progress
- and guidance on how to improve.
- The course is typically based on a course book supplemented by additional material.
- Certificates of attendance and personalised reports are issued on completion of the course.
Intensive English
- 25 lessons per week (22.9 hours)
- Monday-Friday. Mornings: 9.00-10.30, 10.45-12.00. Afternoons: 13.00-13.55, 14.05-15.00
- Designed for students who wish to improve their spoken and written English
- Students immersed mornings and afternoons in the English language
- Morning classes are General English, focusing on grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, and offering practice in the four skill areas: listening, speaking, reading and writing
- Afternoon classes help students to improve their confidence in their use of English, with topics such as:
- British culture & institutions
- Creative writing
- News & discussion
- Project work
- Integrated skills
- Students receive individual tutorials on their own use of language and guidance on how to improve
- Regular progress tests are given, and homework is set regularly.
- Certificates of attendance and personalised reports are issued on completion of the course.
