My name is Yvonne and I'm from China. I want to study Law in Britain and so I need a high level of English. Bath is a lovely city to study in. The teachers are very kind and give you a lot of support with your studies. In the classes I can learn lots of thing and step-by-step I can improve my English. When I finish my course here I'm going to begin an MA in Legal Studies at Bristol University.

IELTS Preparation

Overview

This course is designed for more advanced students who wish to take the internationally recognised IELTS test. The IELTS test is recognised by English speaking universities as evidence of the required level of written and spoken English for entry to both undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses.

Entry Level of English Classes are offered for students at Intermediate / Upper Intermediate and Advanced levels
Placement Details Students are given a placement test on arrival

Key Points

  • Students should be at least Intermediate level before starting this course
  • 25 lessons per week (mornings and afternoons)
  • In the mornings, students join our Intermediate, Upper-Intermediate or Advanced General English class, focusing on grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, and offering practice in the four skill areas: listening, speaking, reading and writing
  • The afternoon classes provide preparation and practice for the IELTS examination, and there are regular IELTS practice tests
  • It is possible to attend only the afternoon IELTS classes (10 lessons per week). Please contact us in advance if you are interested in this
  • It is also possible to arrange for intensive IELTS (morning and afternoon IELTS preparation). Please contact us in advance to arrange this
  • Help will be given with applications for the IELTS examination (please note that the course fee does not include the cost of taking the exam)
