Hi, I’m Tatsu, and I’m from Germany. I came to Bath for a term to primarily improve my English for university, but along with that, I wanted to immerse myself in new subjects to broaden my horizons.
During my time at Bath Academy, I took 4 A-Levels over the course of one term, focusing on Psychology, Sociology, Business, and Economics.
I really enjoyed the small class sizes at the college, which allowed me to have a more personalised attention and the opportunity to ask questions that deepened my understanding. Another bonus of the smaller classes was the chance to connect with my classmates on a more personal level.
Outside of academia, I was very involved in extracurricular activities. I played a lot of hockey for the Team Bath Buccaneers (TBB), which was a great way to stay active and meet people. I also hosted the Debate Club at Bath Academy (photo above), where the high-level discussions and interesting topics made for great fun. Additionally, I served as a student representative for international students, offering support where I could.
When I first arrived in Bath, I wasn’t entirely sure whether committing to a term was the right decision. But looking back, I couldn’t have been more wrong. I met so many interesting people, both within the school and beyond, and made friendships that I hope will last a long time.
Beyond the academic knowledge and new friendships, I feel that I’ve also grown personally, which is, in my opinion, the most important takeaway from my time in Bath. I’m grateful for the experience and all the lessons I was able to learn.
Tatsu’s parents also had this to say about their son’s time at the college –
‘I would like to express my sincere gratitude to you for the wonderful care and support you provided to our son Tatsu during his time at Bath Academy. The inspiring environment and your dedicated guidance not only helped him improve his language skills but also contributed greatly to his personal growth.
He has made remarkable progress thanks to your efforts and will surely cherish his time with you for years to come.
Thank you for your work and best wishes for the future!
