The Bath Academy University Foundation Programme (UFP) (University of Bath Progression Route), is a one-year intensive course for international students. It is an alternative route to A-Level or International Baccalaureate for progression to the University of Bath.
Bath Academy has been running the University Foundation Programme since 1997, and has recently signed a second Memorandum of Understanding with Bath University for the next three years to give guaranteed offers from the University of Bath to our students.
The specialised pathway for students whose first choice is to progress to the University of Bath includes a Guaranteed Conditional Offer letter, following your application through UCAS, for a majority of degree courses.
Entry to the Bath Academy UFP (University of Bath pathway) is by competitive application. From the start of the course we offer extensive and individualised academic guidance based on each student’s academic journey, taking into account their chosen degree, all the way through to their UCAS application.
Our small class sizes (of 8-10 students) and personalised tuition allow for a more dedicated focus on students’ needs.
Bath Academy has a proven track record of successful placement of our students at the University of Bath.
In 2026:
- 100% of those applying to study Accounting/Business/Finance degrees at the University of Bath achieved the required grades
- 93% of our students with joint offer letters from Bath Academy and the University of Bath achieved the required grades
- 75% of grades were A*-B
The University of Bath offers an array of undergraduate degrees* and students will be able to select appropriate modules during their time on the Foundation Programme according to their academic goals.
Modules that students undertake may be compulsory for specific degrees.
